Charles “Sky” A. Storms of Ocala, Florida passed away August 26, 2021. He was born May 11, 1935, son of William F. Storms, MD and Marion (Collins) Storms and raised in Wethersfield, Connecticut. He is survived by his wife of over thirty Midori (Nakahara Tanaka McGee) Storms. his brothers Peter F. and Nancy (Amrein) Storms in Rocky Hill, CT, James A. and Robbie (Snyder) Storms in Essex, CT. sister-in-law Sally (Simmons) Storms in Troy, NY, and seven nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas W. Storms. Chuck had an adventurous career beginning with aircraft maintenance, a stint in the Air Force, and as a teacher and administrator in Brattleboro, VT. He became very interested in piloting small planes and even spent time taking pictures of farms and estates from the air. He chose to be called Sky Storms, and that’s the only name many of his friends know him by. In the late 1980s he and Midori retired from teaching and moved to Ocala, Florida, first to a house with a small hangar attached on a grass airstrip, the airport. by Shady. He tried lots of ways to make some extra cash, some of which paid off and some didn’t, but he had a great time. In recent years he has volunteered teaching prisoners how to apply for jobs by providing each person with a copy of his book on How to Get a Job. He was happy that some of them had succeeded. He was an enthusiastic storyteller, always ready to say something. He was also a small aircraft trader, buying, flying and then selling to buy back. He eventually joined a flying club to make things more affordable. His best friends were the people he flew with, which allowed him to be the pilot from time to time. His wish when he left was for them to throw a party and spread his ashes on Shady’s airport. He has just embarked on his final flight
