Children are invited to Trick-or-Treat on the historic USS Yorktown
October 03, 2022
Instead of going door-to-door collecting candy, kids are invited to pass candy from plane to plane aboard the historic aircraft carrier USS Yorktown. The family Halloween event will return for its second year on Saturday, October 22 from 5-7 p.m.
Patriots Point encourages families to dress up in their best Halloween costumes and visit the candy stations on the ship’s hangar deck. Attendees can also enter a raffle to win a Friends of the Fleet Annual Pass, which grants the pass holder and one guest unlimited admission to the museum for one year. The event is free, but a ticket is required. A limited number of tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis HERE.
“There isn’t another Halloween event in the state like this!” said acting executive director Mac Burdette. “Trick-or-treating through a WWII aircraft carrier is an experience kids won’t forget.”
Also at the museum this fall, from October 17-31, Bulldog Tours will be offering a Halloween edition of the Captain’s Guided Tour. The tour will give participants exclusive access to areas of the ship not accessible to the general public. Plus, guides will share some of the most bizarre events in the history of the USS Yorktown and unexplained phenomena that still occur on the ship. The tour is offered daily for an additional $15 per person. To see the full schedule and reserve a spot, visit patriotspoint.org.
