The Central Scientific Instruments Organization (CSIO) celebrated its Foundation Day with several events, including an online quiz, an electronic presentation competition and a virtual open house.

A technology transfer agreement has also been signed between Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and CSIO for LED night vision goggles, wing and aileron compatible navigation lights for airplanes, taxi lights and d LED landing and LED drug lights as well as test stands.

Professor S Anantha Ramakrishna, Director of CSIO, said the new technology developed by CSIO would lead to more robust lights for the aircraft, as these would be LED-based and replace the thin-filament lamps used in aircraft. previous versions, which made it more prone to crashes. .

He said it would lead to less power consumption and less heat dissipation, making the lights compatible with night vision capability.

Prabha Goyal, CEO of BEL, signed the agreement on behalf of BEL.
