Members of the United States military, past and present, were honored on Wednesday, November 11, as part of the federally recognized holiday of Veterans Day.

And Kim Kardashian took the time to pay tribute to all of the U.S. servicemen by sharing some return photos taken during a trip she took to visit the troops aboard the aircraft carrier USS San Diego which was stationed at Abu Dhabi in November 2014.

Visiting Kardashian’s USO with the troops was part of a morale-boosting tradition, through celebrity visits made famous by artists such as Bob Hope, Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor.

The reality TV star, who turned 34 the month before the photos were taken, can be seen standing in a classic selfie pose alongside three servicemen, at least two of whom were from the US Navy.

She simply wrote, “Happy Veterans Day,” in the caption of the first image.

That day, she opted to wear tailored nude pants with a short khaki shirt that she tied in a knot in the front to showcase her famous feminine curves.

The ensemble was completed with a pair of stiletto heels, a bold red lipstick, and her long sleek style dark tresses, tucking her ears back with a part in the middle.

“Thank you for your service”: The reality TV star and co-founder of Skim, who was 34 when the photos were taken, had a meeting with members of the service, which included many selfies, and took a tour of the USS San Diego during her time on the ship

The Skims co-founder followed with a second photo of herself standing proudly arm in arm with one of the ladies who make up the United States Marine Corps.

“Thank you for your service,” she captioned the photo, which was also taken as part of the USO’s visit to the aircraft carrier.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star was on a trip to Dubai the week before, before making the surprise stop to spread some joie de vivre among the officers stationed on the aircraft carrier.

As part of her visit to the USO, she also had an encounter with the troops, which included many selfies and cheek kisses, as well as a VIP tour of the ship.

In fact, dozens of servicemen and women flocked to the transporter deck to see the star and pose alongside her and appear in one of her famous selfies.

Kardashian, whose tour included an inspection of the tanks below deck, described the pre-Thanksgiving visit as incredible.

“I just went to visit the American troops in Port Khalifa for a Thanksgiving surprise! She tweeted on November 24, 2014, as reported by the New York Daily News.

‘Such an amazing experience! So thankful for everything they do.

The multimedia starlet’s visit was certainly a welcome gift for the hard-working men and women who had just returned from South Africa at the time.
