Zela Aviation signs strategic agreement with Precision Air in Tanzania


Air charter group based in Cyprus Zela Aviation at the end of August, entered into a strategic partnership with an airline based in Tanzania Precision air.

As of October 1, the agreement provides that Zela Aviation will act as General representative for the rental of aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance (ACMI) from Precision Air to other airlines.

“We are delighted to sign a GSA contract with a reputable airline such as Precision Air,” said the president of Zela Aviation. Andréas Christodoulides said, adding that Precision Air is one of the high standard airlines in Tanzania and the surrounding region.

Precision Air offers regular flights from its central hub, Dar es Salaam, to Arusha, Bukoba, Dodoma, Kahama, Kilimanjaro, Mbeya, Mtwara Mwanza, Zanzibar and Nairobi.

“We will work closely with Precision Air to see this successful partnership and both parties achieve their business goals,” he added.

In addition to scheduled commercial flights, Precision Air also offers charter services, third party maintenance services through its Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO), package and freight services.

For his part, the Managing Director and CEO of Precision Air Patrick mwanri praised the new venture with Zela Aviation.

“The aviation industry is witnessing many changes and challenges due to the pandemic; therefore, as a company, we have no choice but to be agile, ”Mwanri said.

He added that Precision Air’s partnership with Zela Aviation will ensure optimal use of their planes as they are currently not fully utilized due to declining travel demand.

According to Mwanri, the cooperation will mainly provide a source of ancillary income during the low season.

Zela Aviation is active in the fields of charter and sale of aircraft. It has offices in Limassol, Athens and London and provides services in Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America.
